Weighted blankets are designed to create an even and gentle weight on the body. This pressure mimics a therapeutic technique known as deep pressure stimulation, which relaxes the nervous system by increasing serotonin (mood-boosting) levels in the body and reducing cortisol (stress) levels in the body. This change in hormone levels can assist in relieving stress, body pain, and help with overall good sleep. Another really great thing is that these blankets wrap around you like a nice warm hug – and who doesn’t love hugs?
