Choosing The Right Concealer For Your Skin

By Ruby M

Thanks to the diverse world of cosmetics, there are tons of concealers to choose from – but choosing the right one is important to ensure a natural-looking finish. Here’s a list of the most popular types of concealers and what they’re great for.

Liquid concealer is a great choice for all skin types, including dry skin. It’s great for covering dark under-eye circles and many are formulated with hydrating properties, helping to create a smooth and radiant finish.

Balm Concealer

This is a thicker concealer that will stay on your skin all day – so if you have oily skin, this is a great option for you. If you’re prone to breakouts, the balm concealer is a must. It’s a great concealer for layering and covering up redness.

Cream Concealer

Cream concealer has a much thicker texture than most of the other concealers out there – so if you are keen on a heavier concealer, this is a great choice. It’s perfect for covering up hyperpigmentation and dark circles and great for added brightness. Be careful if you have breakout-prone skin when using this type of concealer – always check the label to make sure that it’s alcohol-free, oil-free, and non-comedogenic.

Stick Concealer

Concealer sticks have a semi-solid texture and are great for covering up pesky dark spots and blemishes. They’re rather heavy though, so it isn’t recommended for oily or combination skin types. Stick concealers are great for touching up your makeup when you’re out and about, and it’s a great option for dry skin.
