But wait!

These products are expensive, and you need to know which ones have expired or are not suitable for use anymore. Here is how you can know. You can start by checking the expiry date on the back label. The product will either mention the expiry date explicitly or may specify the number of months from the date of manufacturing before the product expires.

It may also be the case that the product expires even before the expiry date. Here is how you can know. If the product has lost its consistency or starts breaking down visibly, then maybe it’s time to put it in the bin.

If it is mascara or liquid eyeliner, drying is a common sign of expiry.

Another way to know whether the product is expired is if it starts losing its color. Have you seen how a banana turns black as it reaches its expiry? Similarly, your cosmetic products might also start turning pale. Look for slight changes in color before applying the product to get a fair idea of its expiry.

In case of any products with fragrance, check whether their smell has turned bad or in some way weird. This will tell you a lot about its expiry.
