Simple Exercises To Prepare Your Body For Pregnancy

By Divya G

Taking care of your body before conceiving can have a major impact on both your pregnancy and delivery. In addition to eating healthy food and taking adequate rest, you need the right exercise to remain healthy. With that being said, here are two easy exercises that can help your body get ready for the joy that’s coming your way.

Ball lunges

Stand straight on one foot and place the other foot over a stability ball. Now, keep the spine long and let the top of the head reach up to the ceiling during the exercise. Then, gradually move back the torso while holding it straight. When you do this, your front knee bends, and the back leg reaches back. Shift your weight to your back leg. Come back to the starting point and repeat it a few times on both sides.

Ball roll-over

Stand behind the stability ball and do a squat. Let the heels stay off your floor, and the feet turn out by 45 degrees. Hold the ball with both hands and rest your head over the ball while letting the neck remain in a relaxed position. Press the lower abs in the ball and keep rolling backward and forward. This will relax the lower back and open up the hips more. If you want, you can also do a few movements sideways while staying in this position.

Practice these two simple exercises daily and take good care of your body to prepare it for the baby’s arrival.
